Hillingdon goes live with Check-in, Patient Call and Reception Manager
09 February 2009
Hillingdon Hospital Trust is ready to unveil its new Savience patient Check-in systems as part of its purpose built, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Diagnostic Treatment Centre at the Mount Vernon site in Northwood.
The redeveloped facilities at Mount Vernon will deliver the majority of the area's surgical procedures for outpatients in the Hillingdon Trust area. Mount Vernon will also provide additional services to ambulatory cancer patients, supporting the work of the cancer centre at Hatfield.
The redevelopment has always been seen as an holistic process. Improvements have been made internally and externally geared to the needs of patients and staff at all levels.
The hospital will also introduce the Reception Manager and Patient Call modules to enable the Trust to track their patients through complex pathways during the course of their visits. Patients will now be called for their appointments via a plasma screen using a unique identifier allocated to the patient at the point of checking in.
General Manager, Karen Blackbond, believes that the new systems will greatly benefit hospital patients:
"Our aim is to have a centre of excellence and innovation. The patient experience is central to our planning of services. Queues in outpatients are a notorious source of frustration for patients. After a long search we have now found a product that will provide quick and simple self check-in for patients, easy clinic management and the calling of patients in both complex and simple clinic journeys. Added to this there is a robust reporting system to help us monitor our performance.
"We are currently at the development and implementation stage. The Savience team is seen as part of our team, working together to overcome the challenges of the site and service specific quirks."
